Consultant in Clinical Biochemistry and Metabolic Medicine

After undergraduate and postgraduate training in Dundee, Fiona was appointed consultant in Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2011.

Fiona’s main area of interest is inherited metabolic disorders in adults for which she is clinical lead for the hospital and also represents the North East of England on the NHS England Clinical Reference Group for these disorders. Fiona is also the Director of Maternal and Newborn Screening services within the laboratory.
