Advanced Practitioner in Histological Dissection

BSc (Hons) MSc FIBMS

Louise graduated in 2003 from Northumbria University with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, during her degree Louise carried out a year’s placement  as a trainee Biomedical Scientist (BMS) working in RVI cellular pathology between 2001 and 2002.

Following graduation Louise accepted a permanent trainee BMS post in RVI cellular pathology and became a state registered BMS in 2004. Louise graduated her MSc (Biomedical Science) at Northumbria University in 2008 and achieved Fellowship status with the Institute of Biomedical Science in 2009.

Louise started the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection in 2009 and successfully completed the portfolio and examination in 2011. Subsequently Louise was appointed as an Advanced Practitioner in Histological Dissection in 2012.

Louise is currently a participant on the RCPath/IBMS BMS Histopathology Reporting scheme.
