Quality Manager – Blood Sciences

Jonathan joined the Immunology laboratory at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham as a trainee in 1990. He gained entry to the IBMS in 1992 and achieved Fellowship in 2003.

Jonathan has spent most of his career working within Immunology laboratories but worked in the haematology and transfusion laboratories at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne between March 2001 and August 2004, when he moved across to the Immunology laboratory at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

He took over the running of the AutoImmunology Section in July 2005 and has led it through a number of changes in that time, including transferring a number of tests to a more automated format to enable quicker response times. As of May 2019, Jonathan has been appointed Quality Manager for Blood Sciences, serving across both the Freeman and RVI Sites.
