Advanced Transfusion Practitioner – Specialist Biomedical Scientist

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences, MSc Biomedical Sciences, IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology and Transfusion Science

Location: Blood Sciences Department, Laboratory Medicine, Freeman Hospital

Aimi started her career at the Freeman Hospital in 2005 after graduating from University of Sunderland. She went on to complete the IBMS Certificate of Competence and the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology and Transfusion Science. From 2009 she worked as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist across all hospital sites within Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Hospitals Trust.

In 2014 Aimi was appointed to her current role as Transfusion Practitioner for the Trust.

Aimi is registered with the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) and is an active member of the British Blood Transfusion Society (BBTS) and Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). She is also a member of the HTT, HTC and the RTC.
