Alison graduated from the University of Hull in 2005 with a BSc in Biomedical Science. She then worked as a Biomedical Scientist at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire, completing an MSc in Pathological Science from Sheffield Hallam University in 2008. In 2014, she moved to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, before gaining promotion and moving to the Freeman Hospital.
Alison is a Member of both the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and the British Blood Transfusion Society (BBTS).
