Caroline is an Advanced Biomedical Scientist. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science in 2010 and began working as a Trainee Biomedical Scientist in November 2010 at the Freeman Hospital Newcastle Upon Tyne.
She then went on to complete her IBMS registration portfolio, became HCPC registered and then completed the IBMS specialist portfolio in haematology and transfusion science. Caroline worked shifts as a biomedical scientist for 6 years during which she studied distance learning with Ulster University to achieve a distinction in her MSc Biomedical Science in 2016. She has been working as a Section Leader in the blood transfusion laboratory at Freeman since November 2017.
