Ray qualified in 1987 from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London, and trained in haematology in London and Edinburgh, where he also gained his MD degree. He arrived at the Northeast in 2004, and having navigated through a changing health service, developed a keen interest in myeloma (co-running the myeloma service in Middlesbrough), acute myeloid leukaemia and diagnostic haematology. He is honoured to be working alongside a superb team at NEHODS.
