Laboratory Reception Manager

Both Freeman and RVI

Ian started his career in the Trust at the Dental Hospital in 1993. After three years of clerical work he moved to the Haematology and Blood Transfusion labs at the RVI in 1996 as a Medical Laboratory Assistant.

During his time in the department Ian has completed an NVQ 2 & 3 in Laboratory Medicine and most recently in 2013 he completed a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care at Teesside University.

After gaining his Foundation Degree he became Reception Team Leader in the newly formed Blood Sciences Department at the RVI. Following a successful spell as Reception Team Lead at the RVI, Ian moved into a new role created by the department; Laboratory Reception Manager for both the RVI and Freeman hospitals in 2018
